History:

Formed in 1975, Conifer is a full service real estate company specializing in the development, construction and management of high-quality, affordable housing communities. Since its inception, the company has developed nearly 200 properties and 15,000 apartment units.

In 1996, Conifer merged its operations with Home Properties, Inc., a public real estate investment trust. During the following five years, the company grew considerably with the development and acquisition of approximately 5,000 multi-family units.

In December of 2000, the Conifer management team purchased the affordable housing division from Home Properties. The resulting private company now concentrates its affordable housing development in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Ohio. Presently, Conifer has over 25 projects consisting of approximately 2,500 units in various stages of the development process in addition to nearly 8,000 apartment units under property management.

The test of time is the test of success. Conifer's presence in the affordable housing industry for thirty years is a testament to its ability to effectively adapt to market conditions and continue to produce housing under various programs and economic cycles.
